Xprog m Reads BMW CAS2 mc9s12dg256c: OK

This is how to use Xprog programmer to read BMW CAS2 mc9s12dg256c.

 

  • BMW CAS2 mc9s12dg256c

Reads good with Xprog m.

 

Xprog 5.55 is ok but new Xprog 5.70 better i think.
Step 1: Xrpog > Device > MCU/MPU > Freescale HC(s)2-secured > MC9S12-EEPROM-secured (at very bottom)

Step 2: Xprog > File >New Bin File.
Step 3: Xprog > Run > Read

PS: You may want to take a little more care with your connections. Cas is easy to kill. Your Vdd and BKGD looks to be bridging.

This is how to change or add a language manually to KTAG KTM100 firmware v7.003 / v7.020.

 

Part 1: To covert the KTM100 language:

 

Go to INI settings file and change manually to English!

see whats the default language that’s written in file, delete and write English

 

  • ini = english

 

Or go to Options in KTM100 interface

Select the language you want to convert

Part 2: To add a new language to KTAG KTM100

 

Anyone can add a new language to KTM100 interface if you have the language pack. But try on your own risk!

The factory has improved and added new language packs.

So, Ktag 7.020 has more languages can be chosen compared with Ktag firmware 7.003.

Xprog 5.70/5.60 read Infineon XC2336A-56F80L-AA New Ford Ka

Finally, i did xc2336A-56F-80L processor perfectly with a Xprog programmer. And here is my write-up. Wish it helps.

 

For XC2336A-56F80L-AA from NEW FORD KA

 

You need to buy Infineon authorization.

It’s only available in Xprog box 5.70 and Xprog 5.60

To read use 3 wires from 10 pads connections (tatyanka privetik) and other wires directly to pins.

How to  change km via OBD for Opel cars?

I just posted what Carl Barter did with his Opcom.

But i think it’s better to not try to modify km with op com because i try in a Agila and dash shows 000000, and i remove dashboard for repair.

Someone told me that Agila has nec processor,not possible diag with opscom but some mileage machines can do it. Probably!

But to change km to Opel, i prefer Digiprog 3 now. I did it on most Opel cars, almost without issues.

KTAG work only for bdm, j-tag, boot.So sometimes, you are used to use it with other programmers like Mpps cable, kess v2, fgtech…

 

 

Galletto 4 work with truck, including Benz truck, read and write ECU via both BDM and OBD; KESS not works with truck, read and write ECU via only OBD, not BDM.

 

KESS V2 is a ECU programming tool that is perfect for OBD use, while KTag is perfect for Jtag, BDM and all the Boot application (tricore and ST10).

With KESS V2 you programming directly through the OBD port of the vehicle, while with Ktag (Ktag 2.13) you need to take apart the ECU and open it, after you can make the read/write operation.

Many ECU has the advantage that can be read and write from OBD port (so KESS V2 is perfect), but there are lot ECU that need to disassemble from the car and open and this is the case for all the ECU that need to be programmed with Jtag, BDM and Boot protocols, so KTAG is needed.

How to install Kess V2 5.017 on Windows 7/8/XP:

Here, take windows xp.

 

Kess V2 5.017 software installation steps:

(Kess V2 5.017 used with Ksuite 2.23)

First, disconnect all network connection!

Open KSuite 2.23 (E:) and run “ksuite_222_v2” exe.

 Recently, one customer with KESS 5.017 Ksuite 2.23 @obdexpress.co.uk has tested and confirmed to work on Windows 10 as well. See the feedback from him, here i just quoted infoof what he said:

Q: Galletto works fine on VW EDC17CP14ecu?

A: Yes

 

Q: with edc17cp10 psa no problem read/write but with this cp14 vag not work even in bootmode and obd ( read ok in both)

A: CP14 shouldn't be problem on Tricore boot. I think you have broken ECU or device.

 

Q: Galletto v54 checksum not supported, how to do?

A: 0. Read Original ALL with Galletto boot mode. It will give you "All" file (4,224kb), internal flash+external flash+eeprom, (in my case).
1. Paste mod internal flash (make sure checksums are already correct) into the original 'all' file. Align correctly. Internal flash starts at 00, so it is easy.
2.Triple checkthat the paste is ok!
3. Flash modded "all" file in Galletto. This is done using "Write All" button.
4. It takes much longer to flash a file with differences. It took about 6+ minutes on first part - internal flash. It went to 100%, then to 75% and up to 100% slowly many times. Total over 10 minutes.
5. Read All to verify!
6. Compare with Hex Editor.

Car started, DPF functions are all gone.

A: The answer is YES

I flashed the original 4224kb 'all' file back to the ecu successfully. Galletto skips checksum correction for the ALL file.

Risky, but I guess I was brave enough. The boot pin accidentally untouched, and galletto stopped and told me to remove power and reconnect. WHILE FLASHING. Nearly peed my pants.

I repositioned boot pin, reconnected power, and it continued error free!

After, I did a verification read of all.

100% identical to original

Now I will paste my internal flash mods (with checksum corrected already) into the 4224kb file, and flash that.

 

Q: How to delete individual dtc codes from edc17 (cp14 was the flavor i was working with)?

find your vag specific dtc look up table. 8 bit.

18569e + 213: 1858b1. this is the location of the p2452 dtc. 00 this byte.

no more dtc light.

Do you konw Kess v2 master is possible to read Mercedes W211 the 2008 year with ECU Delphi DCM 3.2?

Perhaps not. Ktag should be a better choice to read Siemens/Delphi in BOOT mode.

 

ECU programming tools i have:Kess V2 + Ktag clone (buy as a kit,saved a lot)

 

 

I tried it on my Ford Kuga from 2010OK

i can read the ECU (just choosing the "Identification" option on the KSuite. The Ksuits shows me the info about the ECU, ok.

I tried it it on a Mercedes E220 W211 CDI 125kw (170 HP): Failed

the Kees V2 said to me: "Wake Up Error".

I have read about this error and there are solutions about "Format the TF Card" inside or similar.

 

Note: This Kess V2 comes from a good and reliable seller, so maybe the problem is that this ECU cannot be read by OBd2

It is a second hand car, maybe the ecu it is already reprogrammed or similar.

Usually, you have Wake Up Error with old Kess V2, esp. Kess firmware 3.099. But now, new kess v2 programmers hardly ever pop up “Wake Up Error” when reading kess software number.

Please be specific what car, ECU you working with. its difficult to tell whats wrong here ...

 

 

- Maybe conflict in drivers if you have other tools on your pc, try to remove other drivers,and reinstall only kess drivers, have work for me one time

 

 

- Firstly try installing genuine software 2.20 will be fine, once installed then un-install it! Use your software (no point going past 2.08/2.11) if it still gives wake error try removing battery in vehicle for 30 mins and try again, or in 'tools' slow the read speed down to minimum! if still no joy just take it out and do it on the bench!

Tested with a edc17c50 bmw 120d f21 with gpt, read and write ok.

I have a fiat edc17c69 virgin (without software inside), this I can’t read.

In these day I must read a Toyota with nec, when I read post results.

Ktag haven’t token, I read more than 30 ecu and work the same.

Do not get confused by Orange pricing. Orange charge separately for the device, the immo software, the airbag software and the radio software, plus a few specials.

All this comes with the clone.

To compare the two, you must add up all the costs from Orange. There is a very large saving if you buy the clone. But you cannot update it and you have no support from Scorpio. It will suit some people for sure. The adapters are poor quality, and for many the hardware does not work. No doubt as time goes by will will see huge threads about how to fix them. The company who makes it does not have a good reputation for quality or support.

 

I do not regret buying original Orange5 and Tango key programmer. But when I did there were no clones available as an alternative.

 

As for the Tango clone, it’s PCB and components are nothing like the original, and of a very poor quality. I have not seen inside an Orange5 clone yet.

It will suit some people for sure. The adapters are poor quality, and for many the hardware does not work. No doubt as time goes by will will see huge threads about how to fix them. The company who makes it does not have a good reputation for quality or support.

 

I do not regret buying original Orange5 and Tango key programmer. But when I did there were no clones available as an alternative.

 

As for the Tango clone, it’s PCB and components are nothing like the original, and of a very poor quality. I have not seen inside an Orange5 clone yet.

I buy Orange5 china clone. Work great. Now i check in hc05b8, hc11e9, end eproms. All read and write very fast.

I have never had any problems with clone, everything works as it should, knock on wood.

I don’t know is there any scripts but softwares for immo,radio and dash coming together with clone.

On Hc908az60 secured it work’s good.

I have 4 secured mcu, and they work ok.

I have tried 68hc11, allot of eproms, and it work’s just perfect.

I don’t have right now anithing else.

Clone but includes – Immo HPX 9V0

confirmed that oem orange 5 comes with immo hpx 9.0 and adapter set

OEM clone seem work good after report from some users. Just need rework solder points on Moto adapter.

I am not aware of a clone Orange 5 yet. But if it says not updatable then it must be a clone. Original ones are sold by Chinese sellers as well. Prices can vary depending on the bundled software.

i have this Orange5 clone and work everytime with him. not work car radio option.i think isn’t bad clone and not expansive.

I have just bought orange 5 programmer and all seems to work well happy

I got fed up with my genuine upa usbs programmer which didn’t seem to want to read anything, it went through the motions and said success reading a load of zeros gavel

Straight out of the box this Orange 5 clone read and write eproms 95640 and 95P08C3 in circuit no problem with no errors, but I had to make sure that my connections to the chip via test clip were all good and then tool work like charm nerd

I think I like it so far.

I have it for a long time and for now everything is working properly.

One of the few clones that works well and works as an original.

So far its reading and writing (with verify) all eeproms i try. Good tool so far.

Some adapters are not supplied and must be purchased separately Adapters should be resolder for sure but it isn’t so bad ,at all

The main point orange 5 clone isn’t so bad as clones can be.

Good investment for sure .

I like PIN checking function (test insertions) very much .It saved my job a lot of time.

In combination with my UPA -S,CarProg,and mini pro TL866 a lot of job can be done successfully .

Great programmer. All that is stated works. If the speed of exchange is not important, you can do a lot. Many good calculators.
